ENVIRONMENTAL ENDEAVOURS
Behind the glamour, Sexy Fish Dubai has built in sustainable habits: filtered still water replaces single-use bottles, compostable sugarcane and reusable metal straws eliminate plastics, and durable natural materials like stone and Murano glass were chosen to last. Even garnish prep is re-purposed creatively, cutting waste without losing theatre.
DETAILS OF NOTE
At the heart of Sexy Fish Dubai’s spectacle is its design. Octopus-tentacle columns clad in hand-blown Murano glass pulse with light, while a school of suspended glass fish “swims” above the glowing bar. These custom installations transform the space into an immersive underwater world that feels unmistakably its own.

Sexy Fish Dubai translates the brand’s signature blend of spectacle and precision into the heart of DIFC. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and featuring Damien Hirst artworks, the venue sets out to be immersive from the first step inside. Guests enter through a mirrored reception lined with millions of hand-painted coral pieces before arriving at the soaring main room, where octopus-like columns clad in Murano glass rise from the floor and a glowing agate-fronted bar curves through the space. Suspended schools of glass fish shimmer overhead, creating a sense of constant motion, while a wrap-around terrace and rooftop Sekushi room add expansive views of the city skyline.
The cocktail programme is built on bold flavour clarity expressed through clean, minimal serves. Each drink highlights a single hero ingredient, inspired by classic structures but stripped back so the core flavour shines without clutter. Technical precision underpins this approach, from redistilled seasonings to finely tuned carbonation, ensuring the cocktails feel fresh and modern while remaining accessible. Presentation is equally refined: glassware is chosen to complement the drink’s profile, garnishes are aromatic and textural rather than ornamental, and block ice carries the Sexy Fish insignia or a honeycomb stamp, giving even the simplest serve a ceremonial edge.
Beyond cocktails, spirits are treated with equal reverence. The back bar highlights an extensive Japanese whisky collection, thought to be the largest in the Middle East, and a deep agave library that covers tequila, mezcal, sotol and beyond. A 500-reference wine list and 100-strong Champagne selection underscore the venue’s ambition, spanning prestige houses and boutique growers alike.
Service is geared towards polish and pace. Guests are greeted at the ground-floor entrance, checked for reservations, and moved upstairs within minutes. At the bar, water is offered immediately, a small but notable gesture in Dubai, while attentive managers and circulating supervisors anticipate needs throughout the night.
Behind the bar, precision techniques support consistency on a large scale. Redistillations, careful carbonation, and tightly scripted pre-service routines ensure every drink looks and tastes as intended, whether served at a quiet lunch or a packed late-night sitting. A dedicated lab bartender oversees batching and garnishes, freeing the service team to focus on pace and hospitality.
Despite its scale, at more than 300 seated guests and capacity for 500 standing, Sexy Fish Dubai retains a sense of theatre at an individual level. Bathrooms are as designed as the main floor, music programming shifts with the energy of the day, and lighting is layered to evolve from early evening to late night. The result is an experience that combines opulence, technical prowess and hospitality detail, positioning Sexy Fish Dubai as one of the region’s most ambitious and unmistakable bar-restaurant destinations.
“You cannot deny the energy and effort used in creating the space. There were delicate touches of illuminated marble and sculptures of sea creatures adorning the ceiling which gave a sense of grandeur and light.”
